Landmines cleared from strategic
Mozambique railway line

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The last landmines and
unexploded ordnance blocking Mozambique's vital
Sena Railway line have been removed, thanks
largely to some 13 million dollars (10 million euros)
in US aid, the US State Department said.

PM says Japan won't build atomic weapons

TOKYO - Japan's prime minister struggled
Wednesday to stifle talk of a move to build a
nuclear bomb, a concept once considered
unthinkable in the only nation ever attacked
with atomic weapons. "The debate is finished,"
Shinzo Abe said.

Clown convention opens in Mexico
