The Positive News About The Tsunami

This post was developed from an email I received
earlier today about the events unfolding in South
East Asia.

This is a tragic situation but the Positive side is all
the people who have risen to the challenge to help
immediately! The world community is flying in
Doctors, Medicine, Money and Supplies to help
the survivors.

Volunteers from around the world are now traveling
to the area to assist their fellow human beings. This
is the Positive part of the story that we all should be
focused on right now!

Watch, learn, join with those who are contributing their
time, talents and resources to help total strangers recover
from this tragedy.

I believe that's why these things happen; they tend to
bring out the best in all of us and remind us we are all
in this together!

STAY POSITIVE!

The first shipment will be hand carried by US emergency
room physicians working with the Sri Lankan NGO VeAhavita.

The second shipment will be sent by air cargo to Direct Relief's
long-term partner, the Good Samaritan Social Service Association
(GSSSS) located in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu where the
tsunamis caused significant damage and loss of life.

The shipment, which weighs 3,000 lbs. and has a wholesale value
of $600,000, includes pharmaceuticals such as antibiotics,
antiparasitics, analgesics, respiratory agents, antiseptics,
and oral rehydration salts, medical supplies such as wound
dressings, bandages, sutures, surgical instruments, gloves,
and masks, and blankets.

These supplies have been requested by GSSS physicians
serving some of the hardest-hit coastal communities.
