Moderate activity may reduce ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer, a disease which has historically left women with few treatment options, is now considered to be preventable.
Canadian researchers have found that moderate physical activity may help women lower their chances of developing ovarian cancer, demonstrating that a healthy lifestyle can prevent tumour development in women.
Connecticut nears strict school junk food ban
Lawmakers want to make sure Connecticut students aren't part of the Pepsi Generation. Connecticut is on the verge of adopting the most far-reaching ban in the country on soda and junk food in public schools, in an effort to curb rising rates of childhood obesity.
Travellers heading to gym at airport
Some airline passengers are squeezing in a little exercise during layovers or flight delays.
One enterprising individual has launched a web site that now lists more than 50 health clubs in the United States and Canada.
Some are a short taxi ride away from the airport, others are even in airports or airport hotels.

Australia trying to halt research whaling
Australian officials are working to prevent a resumption of commercial whaling and halt Japan's scientific research whaling.
Even Prime Minister John Howard has joined the push, sending a letter to his Japanese counterpart, Junichiro Koizumi, saying Australia believes there is no basis for killing whales.
India and Russia should work for nuclear disarmament: Indian President
The Indian President said that India,as a responsible nation, will never allow nuclear proliferation.
While addressing the leaders of the Duma, Russia's Lower House in Moscow, he said that both Russia and India should work towards a nuclear weapons-free world.
Israel: Sharon vows to cooperate with Abbas
In addition to pledging cooperation with newly elected Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,Ariel Sharon also promised to ask Israel's parliament to release 400 more Palestinian prisoners upon his return to Israel.
Sharon said Israel is already taking steps to help the economic and humanitarian conditions in the Palestinian territories, where unemployment is high. 'We are ready to do more.'
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
A PERFECT GAME
OAKFIELD, N.Y. - Katie Brownell is in a Little League all her own. The 11-year-old - the only girl playing in the Oakfield-Alabama Little League program - pitched a perfect game Saturday for her Dodgers.
She struck out all 18 batters she faced in the six-inning, 11-0 victory over the Yankees.
Oakfield-Alabama officials said they can't remember anybody ever throwing a perfect game in this western New York league between Buffalo and Rochester.
In two games on the mound, Katie has struck out 32 of 33 batters. And she's hitting .714 through the team's first three games.
"She's been pitching for three years, but she really came on and excelled this year," said team manager Jeff Sage.
Katie was almost pulled out of Saturday's game until the scorekeeper reminded her coach she had a no-hitter going. Katie then kept mowing down the opposition and when the last batter was fanned, the crowd erupted. "Everybody congratulated me," she said.
President Bush said, "The fact that someone would pitch a perfect
game at any level of baseball is amazing. The fact that a person
would pitch a perfect game and strike out every batter is even
more amazing".
